GdS: Tomori’s obsession is to be back for the derby against Inter – latest on his recovery

By Oliver Fisher -

With just six days until the big match against Inter, there remains optimism that Fikayo Tomori can return for the game and start alongside Alessio Romagnoli at centre-back.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes that Tomori will do everything to play a part in the game against the Nerazzurri, which will be difficult but not impossible. The Englishman sees derby is a sort of obsession and he has made it his target to be there, or at least to try to do it.

Amid physiotherapy, specific exercises and gym work, Tomori will try in every way to be available for Saturday’s game at San Siro but it is also obvious that neither Milan nor the player want to take risks, because re-aggravating the problem is not an option.

If the knee responds positively in the next few days, the Rossoneri medical staff will evaluate whether to intensify the work in strengthening it and then it will become more clear whether or not Stefano Pioli will be able to call upon him.
