Tuttosport: Positive signs ahead of the derby as Tomori’s knee responds well to increased workload

By Oliver Fisher -

Preparations for the derby between Inter and AC Milan on Saturday evening are being stepped up, and there remains doubt about whether Fikayo Tomori could play a role.

Tomori had meniscus surgery back on January 14 and at the time it was announced that his recovery period would be 30 days, but fast forward to two days before the game and there still seems to be a chance for him to start against the Nerazzurri.

As reported by the newspaper Tuttosport (via MilanNews), in the next two training sessions it will be understood whether Tomori will be available for the big match against Inter. There have been good feelings over the last couple of days as the workload was increased and his left knee did not swell, so much so that yesterday he carried out the first part of training with his team-mates.

It is a race against time for Tomori to be fit for the game against Inter, but if he were return to the group today then the signs are very good, but it cannot be ruled out that this may also happen tomorrow, or that he might not be risked at all.

  1. I would want to see him play against Inter. But i say let him rest and let Kalulu and Romagnoli do the job.

Last thing we want to see is Tomori injured again.

    1. 100% correct, our problem is scoring goals, defense has done surprisingly well and Romo. wants to showcase his talents as well. Coming back from injury is tricky since you play with not so much confidence even though you may be healed, no play
