AC Milan find themselves in a highly difficult scenario currently, and if they are not careful, things could yet become worse.
Frustration is probably the main feeling that many would hold about Milan’s season so far. Despite huge wins against Real Madrid and Inter, there is a lack of consistency, even in other big games, that makes it difficult to trust the current squad.
Context is huge in football, and perhaps with another three points on the board, things would be viewed much differently. However, there is a lack of credit in the bank for the squad, and on paper, they are dangerously close to entering torrid waters, if they do not find themselves within them already.
On Saturday, Juventus will be the challengers at San Siro, and Antonio Vitiello writes that it is a ‘delicate’ match. Should the Old Lady leave Milan with three points, a nine-point gap between the two sides would be found, even a draw doesn’t aid the Rossoneri in their current position.
Instead, Milan and Fonseca must reduce the gap to only three points, and there is no room for error given too many points have already been lost this season. Failing to earn three points risks entering an abyss, and with 26 still to play after Saturday, their hole may only get deeper.
