GdS: Milan ready to try everything for Botman – talks with Lille to intensify this week

By Oliver Fisher -

It will not be easy for AC Milan to sign Sven Botman this month but the management are seemingly determined to give it their best shot, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) confirms that the Dutchman is Milan’s first choice defensive target because he is a modern defender and a young profile that perfectly marries with the vision that the club and the management have.

There are alternative targets of course because meeting Lille’s demands will not be easy, but talks with the French club will come to life in the next few days as Paolo Maldini hopes to use the excellent relationship to his advantage.

Milan have moved ahead of the other teams interested in Botman, and this represents an advantage. The problem is that they must convince Lille to let him leave on loan with an option to buy, and for that option to be set at a lower figure than the current asking price for a permanent deal of €30m.

According to the paper, the valuation may decrease along the way and this is where it will be up to the Milan management to pounce.
