AC Milan are not expected to do any major business during the month of January and will instead focus on getting two key renewals over the line, a report claims.
La Repubblica (via MilanNews) recall the words of director Paolo Maldini who stated last night before the Torino game that the winter transfer market has already been concluded in terms of new arrivals, and he underlined how the management have committed itself this season to a series of key renewals.
The first one will be Ismael Bennacer, who is expected at Casa Milan this afternoon to put pen to paper on a new multi-year extension that will recognise his importance to the squad and to the project.
Then, the hope is that Rafael Leao will extend too, with whom Milan are confident of reaching an agreement as soon as possible. Both players if they signed would constitute an exception to the Rossoneri’s salary cap, as Bennacer would go to €4m net per season plus bonuses while Leao would earn €7m+.
