AC Milan’s defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last week has complicated their hopes of reaching the Champions League knockouts as they dropped from top of the group to third.
According to Corriere della Sera (via SempreMilan.it), Milan need two wins and a draw to guarantee that they make the next round of the Champions League. The Rossoneri are currently third with 4 points would therefore need to obtain another seven (reaching 11) to guarantee they finish in the top two.

Chelsea share the same number of points, but in the case that the two sides finish level then the difference will be the head-to-head games between the teams, with the Blues clearly ahead after their 3-0 win of Stamford Bridge.
Of course, seven points is only the maximum and the actual figure required might be less. For example, favours could come from other games such as Chelsea winning their last two group games or even Salzburg running away with it at the top.
Either way, it already looks like that final group game against the Austrian champions at San Siro could end up being decisive.
