AC Milan have not given up on the idea of signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Vasco Walz and hope to finally convince him, a report claims.
MilanNews were among the sources who reported last May that a meeting was planned between the Milan management and that Walz’s agent – Hector Peris – who would arrive in Italy to negotiate a move, but in the end the midfielder remained at Dortmund.
According to TMW, Milan have not given up on signing the 17-year-old who impressed in the UEFA Youth League match that the Bundesliga side narrowly lost 3-2 to Manchester City.
Walz is a versatile midfielder who can play virtually anywhere in the middle from the double pivot to playmaker, and he has a contract expiring in June 2023.
Several European clubs want him, with Milan and Juventus closely monitoring the evolution of the negotiation between his agents and Borussia Dortmund over the extension of his contract.
His agency – Leaderbrock Sports – just a few weeks ago brought teenager Kenan Yildiz to Italy as he decided to leave Bayern Munich and join Juventus, so who knows that they won’t do the same with Walz.
Ivan Toney (Brentford). Probably could have been done a year or two ago, would be too expensive now, but he will go on to be one of the best strikers in Europe.
Juventus, the black hole of youth. Come to us.
