CorSport: Milan left waiting for a response from defender after €3m-a-year offer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are awaiting response from Alessio Romagnoli having made him an offer to extend his contract, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) talks about the negotiations for the renewal of Alessio Romagnoli, whose contract with the Rossoneri will expire in June. The captain has been offered €3m net per season to extend the current deadline beyond next June, which is half of what he currently receives.

Romagnoli has not yet given an answer to the management regarding the bid and they therefore remain on hold waiting for a response, and may of course have to plan for his possible departure.

Romagnoli joined from Roma back in the summer of 2015 and he instantly established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet, even getting the captain’s armband, but he has struggled in 2021 having lost his place as a guaranteed starter following Fikayo Tomori’s arrival.

The history will mention that Milan has useless defender captain whom he refuse to renew for big Milan it’s all down to management I believe there is something wrong inside the club and they only and forever loyal is Maldini the rest are difficult to trust or believe in their say or action as player harassing the club and power showed the control of those disloyal players. If Ramangioli and Kessie leave for free then Gazidis should leave the club for good

I’m not sure I agree. Romagnoli is being offered 3… that’s awful for the captain to earn. Kessie wanting 8-9. We should have offerrd Romagnoli 4.5-5m and call it a day. He’s worth that IMO. 3 is insulting. This management is awful. Go sign botman, pay him between 2 and 3m and then when he gets better we will stop paying and tell him if he wants more he doesn’t love the club?? This is bad management, and this is an insult. I’m no Romagnoli lover but this is bad.

It’s all down to Gazidis unusual management he was big failure for Arsenal in yearns of winning he was only good in investing in young players forgetting that Milan history and winning is always there
It’s obviously Maldini is struggling with the whole thing going on inside the club I wonder if Boban still with Maldini we will see this ironic situation

We cant sell players. If we sell there price is so low in market that the good players will be so hard to buy. Improve these players make there market price high then we can sell them is hard uhh.

  3. Marius says:

Don’t forget that romagnolli began to lose his mojo under Pioli and his stupid tactics – the defenders are allways exposed because the midfielders don’ t close the spaces enough. I agree that this style of play is more suited for quick defenders like tomori. I am almost certain that romagnolli will do much better in another team under another manager. So, again we loose a good asset because of Pioli. When will we wake up and see this?
