MN: Fofana is not enough – Milan working in advance to land rising Italy star

The transfer window does not reopen for another six weeks, but it seems AC Milan are working ahead of time to try and land Samuele Ricci from Torino.

As MilanNews recall, Milan tried to fix their midfield in the summer with the purchase of Youssouf Fofana from Monaco for €20m. So far the Frenchman is living up to expectations, providing balance with performances that are very useful on the defensive end.

However, he is working overtime because of the lack of depth. Ismael Bennacer was meant to be his deputy until he suffered a full calf tear, and at present he is continuing his recovery program in Qatar. In one month he should return to training at Milanello.

The plan of the Milan medical staff – if there are obviously no hitches or complications – foresees his return to training with the rest of the squad at the beginning of 2025. For his return to the field it will be necessary to wait until the end of January.

In the summer, the plan is to invest in another central midfielder of a high level and the name has been circled in red: Samuele Ricci. The Torino star has been very popular with Geoffrey Moncada for some time now, but his development this season has forced him to move.

At the same time as his growth on the field, there has been a growth in the asking price. Milan are working with the Granata to secure the 23-year-old early, beating the competition and preventing the price from rising further.

Gianluca Di Marzio stated last night that the Milan management have set their sights on Ricci and that they are working to land him ahead of the summer. La Stampa suggested that Luka Jovic could even become part of the operation.

  1. I’ll believe it when I see him at Casa Milan… Otherwise, my faith is this management to actually go make a smart ambitious signing like this is rock bottom. They’ll go pull another reject of Chelsea’s reserves who will be bang average at best and ungodly useless at worst. Just like Rlc

    1. This management also went for Fofana, Pulisic, Morata and Reijnders and got them too. Musah, Okafor, Chukwueze and even Pavlovic
Keep hyper fixating on the failures and you’ll always be grumpy and a sad shell of a human being. Lighten up yo.

      1. Morata was cheap, we only needed to pay the release clause of 13M€ to get him.
Same for Okafor who only costed 14M€, plus I don’t see Okafor as an ambitious signing.
Pulisic was terrific but he actually overperformed. He was never like that with Chelsea or even Dortmund.
I won’t call neither of Reijnders or Fofana ambitious signings while Chukwueze, Musah and Pavlovic are so far massive failures.

      2. Hyper fixating on failures? Let’s see.

Fofana, Puli, Morata and Reijnders cost 75 millions combined. What about the rest from 200 millions spent? One would think we have good coverage but they’re still out there slooking for longterm LB, RB, CD, DM, CM, ST.

We’re almost halfway through the season and our coach is still lost while 3 out of current top 5 clubs in Serie A standings changed their coaches this summer and made overhauls in the rooster.

We’re most probably out of Scudetto race even before December and we’re sitting on 20th place in CL standings with 6 points. Even Dinamo Zagreb have more points than us. And our fragile finances and operations are mostly depend on CL results and qualifications.

But sure, keep fooling yourself and sugarcoating this mess of a club and its management.

  2. Like so many other players – we had the chance to sign Ricci when he was cheap and before he broke out – and now we are expected to believe we are going to sign him and compete with the likes of Man City when we have a transfer cap of 20M?????? LOLOLOLO

    Keep dreaming lads 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  3. Let’s get Ricci to support Fofana but against this Juventus let’s play Reijnder as attacking midfield then we play chukwueze and leao on the wing let’s rest pulisic then use Tammy Abraham as the centre striker. Is important to rest Morata Acmilan can win Juventus besides we have a Good record over them but we need a Good selection but we must not play Loftus cheek at all may be he can play towards 90 mins because we need 3 points so let’s play musah and Fofana at double pivot

  4. Such news atimes turn into fairytale
But I would wish they sign him in January with Jovic as a counterpart while leaving him at Torro for 6months loan so he arrives in the summer
