CorSport: Milan pleased with Adli’s development on loan – the idea for his role

AC Milan are very happy with the development that Yacine Adli is enjoying in his season on loan at Bordeaux, and he will not be typecast into one role next season.

On deadline day night of the summer window, Milan announced the signing of Adli from Bordeaux. The Frenchman signed a five-year contract with the Rossoneri and it was agreed that Adli would be sent back to the Ligue 1 side on loan for this season.

According to il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan are looking for reinforcements for the midfield in view of next season but they are also factoring in the arrival of Adli, who is doing very well in France and could guarantee various solutions to Pioli.

The former PSG man could play as part of the double pivot or in a three-man midfield but also in the attack, given he has shown he can be effective when deployed behind the strikers. The 21-year-old is showing Milan that they already have a reinforcement ready without having to make a major signing for the department.

In the minds of the management, Adli and Brahim Diaz would be the two attacking midfielders, while in the engine room Renato Sanches and Tommaso Pobega (along with Tonali, Bennacer and Bakayoko) could be enough.
