AC Milan have turned their attention towards Japhet Tanganga now that they have sealed the Charles De Ketelaere signing, a report claims.
As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport today (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are able to make a more definitive approach for other targets now that they have concluded the negotiations for De Ketelaere from Club Brugge.
The defender that they seem to be moving for first is Tottenham Hotspur’s Tanganga and the Rossoneri want to sign him on loan and have the option to make the deal permanent next summer.
They need to find an agreement with the Premier League side who have been busy in the transfer market this summer.
The one issue is that Tottenham would prefer Milan to have an obligation to buy the player next summer rather than just an option.
It is a detail that trips up many loan transfers but Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara will be able to give it more attention soon.
Suppose Milan buy Tanganga or other CB, Milan will have 28 players but only 24 of them can be registered at UCL squad.
Calabri, Gabbia (if he stay), and Pobega have guaranteed spots as they are the only players who can fill the 4 academy product quota (1 slot remain).
Mirante, Florenzi, Tonali, and Bennacer also have guaranteed spots as they are the only players who can fill the 4 association homegrown quota (none remain).
But of the remaining 21 players (Maignan, Tatarusanu, Tomori, Kalulu, Kjaer, Tanganga/New CB, Theo, Balo-Toure, Krunic, Bakayoko, Adli, Diaz, CDK, Saelemaekers, Messias, Leao, Rebic, Ibrahimovic, Origi, Giroud, and Lazetic), only 17 can be registered in the non-homegrown quota.

Bennacer from arsenal academy not empoli academy . So you must fill bennacer on that 17 slot . Tatarusano change with bennacer i think , we already have mirante as second GK so tata can be replace by academy GK in CL register. Florenzi can play as LB if theo absence after half season in CL . If they get diallo or ndicka for CB problem solved ( both can play as LB and CB ) so we dont need register ballo toure
OMG… you are correct…I miscounted… Bennacer was 20 years old based on birth year when he first arrive in Italy… he is not homegrown… which means Milan is currently over the homegrown limit by 4…

How do you classify Bennacer as home grown and not Krunic, Messiah and Tatarusanu as the same?
We could also drop one of the matured GK for an upcoming GK from the reserves/Primavera to increase option for the main squad list.
Bennacer spent 3 seasons as U21 in Italian league, so he is categorized as association homegrown of Italy.

I am agree with you, i always think the same. Actually we dont need any new players but we need to offload current players first (after CDK officially signed).
But remember to exclude LAZETIC as cant be registered for CL, because he is under 21. Players under 21 can play at CL without registration.
I think players that need be sold are : Bakayoko (ofcourse), Saelemaekers (with proper offer), Brahim Diaz (Terminate the loan, because already too much players in his position), and cancelled Tanganga or any senior signings and buy a youngster under 21 for 4th CB if Gabbia really out for loan.
Im still confidence for our because they already the best defense past season. Yes Alessio Romagnoli was out this season but he was the 5th choice, when we at CB crisis. Pioli even choose Gabbia than Romagnoli.
I check the rule, the B list for U21 can only be used if the player already spent 2 full seasons at the Club. Lazetic only has half a season with Milan so he can’t be registered at B list.
