Taking a look at Milan’s schedule after the break – from Juve to PSG

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan can head into the international break with their heads held high after beating Genoa last night, breaking away from Inter in the standings. However, they will soon have to shift focus to the upcoming games.

The Rossoneri have claimed 21 points of a possible 24 so far and it’s safe to say that it has been a good start to the season. They need to do better in the Champions League, though, having collected two points in two games so far.

The last few weeks have been very demanding and it’s clear that some rest will do the players a lot of good. However, after the break, another tough run of games awaits which includes the double leg against PSG.

➤ Milan-Juventus: October 22, 20:45

➤ PSG-Milan: October 25, 21:00

➤ Napoli-Milan: October 29, 20:45

➤ Milan-Udinese: November 4, 20:45

➤ Milan-PSG: November 7, 21:00

➤ Lecce-Milan: November 11, 15:00

It won’t be easy for the Rossoneri but they certainly showed in the last few weeks that they are capable of gritting their teeth and getting the job done. Hopefully, some of the injured players will be back at Pioli’s disposal too.

  1. I do acknowledge that Milan are missing three starting caliber players from injury in the midfield. However I still think Pioli could do better staggering his rotations rather than rotating 5/6 players at a time. Fortunately Milan seem to have enough depth (in most positions) to rotate players constantly.

    1. He can’t do that. There are many new and young players who didn’t settle very well. Pioli must look for results combined with rotation. In Genoa game Milan had a lot of luck so it is crucial to pick correct squad.

  2. Stefano Pioli is time to switch up formation 4-2-3-1 in the series a and champions league we need the best out of leao Pioli please crash out the 4-3-3 all we need this season is 4-2-3-1 then 80 minutes 4-4-2 please then rejnder and krunic will play double pivot the musah,or Pulisic or bennercer Will play attacking midfield then Noah Okafor or Geroud will play centre forward then chukwueze or Romero will play wing then leao or Chaka trore will play wing

  3. People will slate every team choice and result that isn’t a win, but need to accept there’s going to be rotation and some dropped points from those games, it’s just the nature of the beast. There’s been good resilience shown so far but that’s a horrible run of fixtures to have to go through – are we missing Mike for three league games?

  4. From 6 macthes, 4 matches are very tough : vs Juventus, PSG (2 times), Napoli. That’s even tougher than last 2 weeks.

When vs Udinese & Lecce, the starters will certainly have their rest. But rotation trio (Chukwueze, Jovic, Okafor) can’t perform well when vs Genoa, it will be bad.

These 6 matches will decide what our realistic targets this season.

  5. In august they were saying this team wont survive the first 10 serie a fixtures, 8 gone now, we are on top of the pile, now they are writing about the next rounds of fixtures, instilling fear, milan will come out tops again, when will they realise that this team is good, continue whining and crying, ac milan is ac milan, its sad that most fans nowadays no longer enjoy their teams victories because they think that they know better than club directors and professional coaches

    1. I think the problem here has more to with many big games in so few days, rather than just many big names in the first 10 serie A fixtures. One of the things when you watch the game vs Genoa is that our players were clearly tired.
Also in august, people lack contextual knowledge (lazio who were second last year are currently 13th with 10 points), IMO right now, Fiorentina is going to be a bigger threat than either lazio or roma or maybe even Napoli.
