The negotiations between AC Milan and Club Brugge for the sale of Charles De Ketelaere could soon be abandoned, a report claims.
As has been reported by HLN Sport in Belgium, Milan do not appear willing to meet the valuation set by the Belgian champions for the talented attacking midfielder.
The Rossoneri have certainly not walked away from the deal entirely but the report claims that talks seem to be ceasing at least for the time being.
The transfer window is going to be open until the end of August which means that there is time for the move to be ignited again, but right now Milan will not move beyond their bid of €30 million and €2 million in bonuses.
Club Brugge have said that it will take €35 million for them to let the player leave. Milan could decide to pursue other targets such as Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea or Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma.

It’s not that Milan can’t pay the extra 3 mil. It’s because they value the player at 25-28 mil and their offer is already exeeding that. Brugge can say they want 35 mil or even more, that doesn’t mean it’s the actual value of the player. Even if Leeds have offered more, that doesn’t mean Milan has to agree with a bidding war. Brugge knows they have to sell CDK this summer because next summer he will have only 1 year left on his contract and he doesn’t want to renew. So if they want the max amount it has to happen this summer and CDK doens’t want to go to an non CL team. Unless another potential buyer shows up, I would relax and wait what will happen. It’s never good for a team to keep a player against his will. It makes them look bad towards other players as well.
Wow, there is one person on here who understands. As said, you set your value by what your scouts are telling you, length of contract, etc. and only a fool would exceed it. If the other club doesn’t agree, so be it, NEVER overpay.
It should be fairly easy for all to see that they make their judgements on players worth and what they are willing to invest in said players but it doesnt change the fact that missing out on an assumingly number 1 target because of a 2-3 millions would still be ridiculous.

I agree but so far neither Renato Sanchez nor CDK have joined another club. So perhaps Milan’s valuation is not so bad after all. It’s always the next 2-3 millions that are missing, but in the end it wouldn’t be a good deal for Milan anymore. The management has decided only to push through if it’s a good deal for Milan. Fans should respect that instead of ridicule it. That’s what building a strong club is about. People forget to see the risk in such investments. Renato Sanchez is injury prone and CDK is not a proven player in a top league. If we pay 35 mil for CDK and he fails, people think it’s solved by booing the player, but the financial impact is for the next 4 to 5 years.
First of all i would never disrespect our management as they have pretty much moved from victory to victory and desserves all the credit that goes their way.
Secondly its not that we disagree and i do also believe that the finances should be respected and i for one actually takes pride in how the club is run as we are actually thriving while still competing at the top of the league and even won the scudetto as well.

No support for M&M…..It’s obvious M&M want CDK, they wouldn’t have wasted all of this time otherwise – and I believe if it were up to M&M they would meet Bruges 35M valuation. This isn’t about M&M and not trusting them – this is about ownership not backing them. M&M aren’t stupid. The price from Brugge has always been 35M. They haven’t increased or decreased it. CDK has 2-3 years left on his deal. We have no leverage now. We’ve been told countless times by Brugge they want 35M – hasn’t changed. Leeds offered 37M. Brugge hasn’t said well now we want 37M. There is no bidding war. I would understand if Brugge kept on increasing the price each week but they haven’t. It’s 35M and it’s always been 35M. I don’t believe M&M are trying to get a “discount” from Brugge (because there isn’t any) but to convince our ownership to give the extra 2-3M to get this deal done. 2M, please end this saga soon. Milan fans have been tired with type of negotiation like this. Fans has been waiting 3 weeks to meet 5 to 3 millions difference negotiation. Just give them another 3 millions and continue for other negotiations (Sanches, Tanganga and maybe Ziyech).
