CF: The minimum amount Milan will earn from the 2022-23 Champions League

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s coffers will certainly be boosted by the revenues received from the Champions League, a report has revealed.

According to research conducted by Calcio e Finanza (via MilanNews), Milan will certainly earn €41.16m euros from participating in the next Champions League, and that is just for being a part of the group stages.

In addition to receiving around €15m as a base for qualifying, €14m must be added for the historical ranking of the Rossoneri and around €10m extra will come from the market pool.

To this figure the proceeds deriving from the results that Pioli’s team achieve during the competition will then be added added, as more money is earned for wins and draws in the group stage.

Of course, the sum of €41.16m could be substantially boosted if Milan manage to take advantage of their Pot 1 status by qualifying for the knockout rounds, given the extra revenues that unlocks.

  1. This years CL will be interesting. It would be very interesting if we can qualify to the knockouts. From there anything can happen.

  2. Qualifying from the group and being top 4 in Serie A will be a successful season. The club needs the UCL money if it’s going to stay competitive, but also needs to progress in the groups to make future coefficients and group stage draws more favourable (even in the new format from next year).

In terms of plain hard progress (ie cash), the Champion’s League last 16 is more important to Milan than the difference between 4th and 1st in the league.
