AC Milan continue to prove with each game that they are not as reliant on Zlatan Ibrahimovic as some initially thought.
As MilanLive recalls, this season Ibrahimovic has had to miss seven games, four because of Coronavirus and three due to a muscle injury.
Without him, Milan have amassed six wins and one draw, scoring a total of 17 goals – good numbers for a team that some fans and pundits said was too reliant on the 39-year-old Swede.
When taking into account last season, the total is 12 games without Ibrahimovic and the team still have not lost, instead racking up nine wins and three draws with 24 goals scored and 9 conceded.
Of course, having him back in the starting XI will be a huge boost for the team, but it is perhaps an indication that there is no need to rush his recovery and also perhaps that his workload can be managed moving forward to prevent fatigue and the possible injuries it could bring.
