ML: Newcastle could launch bid for €30m Milan midfielder linked with Wolves and Spurs

Newcastle United could make a move for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie this summer, according to a report.

Despite holding a spot in the starting XI under both Marco Giampaolo and current head coach Stefano Pioli for the vast majority of the season, Kessie faces an uncertain future with the Rossoneri.

A lot has been written in the media about Milan’s pursuit of other midfield targets such as Sandro Tonali, Teun Koopmeiners and Florentino Luis among others, meaning the Ivorian could find himself on the fringes.

According to MilanLive, that is where Newcastle could come in. The Premier League side are expected to be among the protagonists of summer window due to their new and ambitious ownership, which intends to make significant investments to haul the team into the upper echelons of English football once again.

Kessie is far from unsellable to Milan, the report adds: the 23-year-old midfielder has a valuation of around €30million and in case of an offer deemed appropriate, he is ready to leave.

The former Atalanta star has in the past been linked with a number of Premier League sides such as Wolves, Arsenal, West Ham and Tottenham. Now it could be Newcastle’s turn.
