ML: Pair of Milan signings cost €36m; now worth €90m – Maldini deserves the credit

AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini deserves praise for the work he carried out to bring two young stars to the club, a report claims.

There has been speculation in the past few days that a number of clubs are beginning to circle for Theo Hernandez, who has been virtually immovable from the starting XI since his arrival from Real Madrid.

The Frenchman has managed to conquer everyone, from those inside the club to fans. A report from MilanLive claims that today Theo is the player who has the highest value in the squad, and that his valuation has risen from €20m to €50m.

It has been a similar story for Ismael Bennacer. The Algerian, awarded Player of the Tournament for AFCON 2019, has become a staple of the team. He arrived for €16million from Empoli but now his value has at least doubled, and Milan will not sell for less than €40m.

Two super purchases, which certify the excellent work done by Paolo Maldini. The former club captain put in the work to convince both players but particularly Theo, who has since completely bought into the club and seems happy.

Maldini is contested above all for betting on Marco Giampaolo, an error that could ultimately cost dearly, especially if Rangnick were to arrive which would limit his work.

The purchases of Bennacer and Theo Hernandez show, however, that Maldini must still have the opportunity to work as technical director, perhaps with a bigger budget.
