MN: Milan’s probable XI against Lazio – Pioli reverts back to strongest line-up

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan must respond after a disappointing home draw against Cremonese and they will face Lazio tomorrow, with Stefano Pioli starting to get an idea of the team he will field.

According to the latest from MilanNews, Pioli will stick with Mike Maignan in goal while Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez should be the full-backs. Fikayo Tomori should come back in at centre-back alongside Malick Thiaw.

Rade Krunic and Sandro Tonali are down as the midfield double pivot with Ismael Bennacer ahead of them as the attacking midfielder, forming a triangle of sorts to give balance in the middle of the field.

Finally, the attack should see Junior Messias get the nod on the right wing with Rafael Leao on the opposite flank and Olivier Giroud coming back in to lead the line.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo; Krunic, Tonali; Messias, Bennacer, Leao; Giroud.

Suspended: None.
Out: Ibrahimovic, Pobega.
One yellow from suspension: Kjaer, Kalulu, Thiaw, Rebic, Pobega.

  1. Strongest lineup? Have you forgotten about the only defender that gives stability and security to our game? The one we can always count on?
In my opinion Kjaer is levels above every other defender we have and we need him, especially in big games.

  2. It’s a good line up, but If we score more goals we must remove leao and giroud and put in rebic and another sticker inorder to rest them
