MN: Adli gets a goal to boost confidence as January crossroads looms

By Oliver Fisher -

Yacine Adli was in need of an injection of confidence after a difficult first part of the season and the friendly against Lumezzane produced a much-needed goal.

MilanNews recall that the first 15 days rounds of the season so far produced only 114 minutes of action, and it has largely been a difficult period after the 22-year-old shone during the summer preseason friendlies.

Yesterday’s goal against Lumezzane, which arrived at the end of a wonderful individual run, will certainly have given Adli some confidence given he almost certainly imagined a completely different first part of the season.

However, a goal against a Serie D team cannot be enough to turn his year around, so now he must try to find consistency in the next friendlies against Arsenal, Liverpool and PSV Eindhoven.

In the coming weeks his future must also be resolved given it is currently at a crossroads. He is left with the choice to either stay at Milanello and continue working to impress perhaps without many minutes, or go out on loan.

Adli is not lacking in requests from both Serie A and Ligue 1 clubs, so it’s a decision that will be up to the player himself.
