Stefano Pioli

MN: All eyes on the training pitch for Pioli as he waits for two key reinforcements

Preseason preparations have been going on for a few days now and Stefano Pioli is getting to grips with his squad while waiting for help from the market.

MilanNews writes how the Rossoneri head coach has been able to have a first look at Yacine Adli and has welcomed back Tommaso Pobega, with more players having arrived back from international duty too. But while Pioli’s efforts are focused solely on the field, he will have some thoughts about the market too.

Juventus and Inter have already secured important reinforcements so now Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara must answer them if they really believe that Milan are ready to aim for the second star as well as to go further in the Champions League.

A playmaker is wanted and Charles De Ketelaere of Club Brugge is the No.1 target. By now we know that the negotiations between Milan and the Belgian club are in an advanced state, and he could join Brahim Diaz plus the aforementioned Adli.

Then there is the central defender issue as Alessio Romagnoli’s farewell leaves a gap, so a new centre-back to join Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Simon Kjaer (with Matteo Gabbia potentially allowed to leave) is needed. Abdou Diallo of PSG is who is being worked upon.

These are the two roles to be strengthened as soon as possible, while Pioli anxiously awaits reinforcements ahead of the upcoming friendlies.

  1. For me, the defence is less important. We have three top players already in Kalulu, Tomori and Kjaer….If there would be any signing for the defence, it should be January. Let’s focus on the attack specifically….Forza MILAN!!❤️🖤
