MN: Bakayoko has chosen to remain at Milan – management happy with decision

By Oliver Fisher -

It has emerged that Tiemoué Bakayoko made the decision to stay at AC Milan and reject any chance of a move elsewhere, according to a report.

Bakayoko has not been used in a single competitive game by Stefano Pioli this season so far and he seemed destined to terminate his loan at Milan six months early during the January transfer window and change clubs.

However, MilanNews are reporting that in the end he decided to stay with the Rossoneri to help the team and finish the season in the best possible way, a choice that the management are ‘happy’ with having been informed.

Among the clubs that had tried to sign the French midfielder was the Turkish club Adana Demirspor. Vincenzo Montella’s side tried with the utmost professionalism to facilitate the negotiation in a climate of maximum collaboration, but in the end the Chelsea loanee has made other choices and will remain.

  1. Yeah very happy because he plays a lot and he brings too much to the team . Lol 😂 we could have taken aouar for free

    1. no offense but that is a blatant lie or at minimum a misinformed statement because lyon would not have let aouar go for free this january.
We can sign him for free for next season though which we can already do now due to his expiring contract.

  2. If we switch to 433 he could be useful. Noticed with him it takes him a while of continued playing to get good, and I know his contract situation, but when he gets good he can actually become a physical presence ala kessie, which is what we’ve been missing the most season imo. Radical, but we need solutions

    1. problem with his loan contract is if he plays 15×45 minutes this season we will have to cough up around 20 mil to chelsea so we cant really afford to field him regularly.

        1. I know that but 15×45 minutes is roughly 7 and a half game so clearly he cant be a regular that we count our luck upon if we wont accept forking up 20 mil in the summer. If he plays it will most likely be towards the end of the season or in case of even more injuries.

    1. Can’t remember which derby exactly but one of those with Gatusso as our Coach when Bakayoko beasted out v Inter. As a professional @ that level I believe he is ready to come on should the Coach turn to him plus he’s the closest thing we have to a Kessie alternative (poor man’s kessie IMO). Add to that the depth shortage at midfield and we’re technically better off for having him even if for 3 or 4 appearances as a sub to prevent any buy clause being triggered. If Isma or Sandro go down we’re left with Pobega, Krunic and Vranck. Keep Bakayoko and pray we don’t use him this season then return to CFC who’ll probably let any team willing to take him do it free in the summer.
