MN: Bennacer warms up with Algeria amid agreement with Milan – he could start vs. Sampdoria

By Oliver Fisher -

Ismael Bennacer could return to the starting line-up on Saturday against Sampdoria in the game at San Siro, according to a report.

MilanNews writes how after his rehearsal in Florence, the Algerian could find a starting spot in the next league match against Sampdoria but first Bennacer will warm up his engines with his national team.

Obviously he will do so without overdoing it because a relapse would be disastrous at this stage of the season. He was rested for the match against Zambia last week, but tonight he could and should take the field against Botswana in an African Cup of Nations qualifier. Milan actually made agreements with the Algeria coach not to force the young midfielder to play too much, because the club does not want to take any chances.

The hope – both of Pioli and the fans – is to see Bennacer alongside Franck Kessié as soon as possible, because it is a golden partnership that has already been missing for large parts of the season and is pivotal to Pioli’s mechanisms.
