MN: Chelsea man wants Milan return; could form part of dynamic and aggressive pairing

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could be tempted to partner Ismael Bennacer with Chelsea-owned midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to a report.

We reported last week that Bakayoko does indeed want to rejoin Milan this summer as Monaco will not exercise their €40million option to buy, and that while the Diavolo could launch a new loan bid (with option) the deciding say will be down to incoming boss Ralf Rangnick.

Pietro Mazzara’s latest editorial for MilanNews, Milan are looking to give Bennacer a strong and physical midfield partner with which he can form an effective double pivot next season, with Franck Kessie’s inconsistency not enough to guarantee his place.

Bakayoko is a player specifically mentioned in the piece, which also adds that the Frenchman wants to return to San Siro and his sent signals to such effect.

Discussions could be started with Chelsea to see if they will lower their demands to perhaps below the €35million option to buy that was built into the loan deal which Milan did not exercise a year ago.

Milan are looking for young players to build around but also those hungry for the desire to win and to do it in the red-and-black shiort, with Bennacer and Bakayoko considered as a potentially great couple in the middle of the field due to their ‘dynamic and aggressive’ nature.
