AC Milan are ready to submit their third bid for Charles De Ketelaere and his absence from the Super Cup final today was a sign.
According to MilanNews, the Rossoneri’s first offer for De Ketelaere was around €20m plus bonuses but it was more exploratory than anything else. The management waited a few days before presenting the second offer of about €28m plus bonuses (plus the potential for Jungdal and Roback as counterparts), but this too was refused.
Milan found agreement with the 21-year-old over a five-year contract worth €2.5m per season, and then today in the final of the Belgian Super Cup between Brugge and KAA Gent, De Ketelaere did not even play a single minute.
This could well be a market indication because – out of respect – AC Milan did not want to contact the Belgian club prior to the match. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara already have ta third offer ready worth €30m plus bonuses, about €10m more than the first proposal and a signal that Milan absolutely wants to close.
Our mercato might have started slow, lots of false rumors and missed targets but…
This is different. When a player is fully fit and left out, it’s because the club have instructed the manager that the transfer is happening. So it’s down to tiny details that are easily negotiated.
Ie, CDK is a Milan player. Let’s hope he lives up to the hype… new Kaka is a bit presumptuous but if he’s even half the player then we have a good no.10. Young, technical and not demanding high wages.
Calhanag… who?
Calhanobody!!
Kayson, i love your optimism. But we do not know which club it is that he will sign for, as the bid from Leeds exceeds ours. We can only hope that Milan submits an improved offer and the player insists on coming to us. brugge want as much money as they can get.
Exactly this; they stand to make big money from someone here and don’t want him getting injured. And it sounds like there are clubs offering more money than Milan at the moment.
Leeds and Leicester don’t play in Champions League. Club Brugge and Milan are in Champions League. Club Brugge is not in financial difficulty. CdK want to play in Champions League. So he will join Milan or stay at Brugge, moving to Leeds or Leicester is a regress.
This is not like Botman saga. Maldini told Ambrosini he did not plan on spending money for center-back. Lille need much money due to financial difficulty so they want the highest bidder. Both Lille and Newcastle are not in Champions League so moving from Lille to Newcastle is not regress.
Lexington and R…
Another pesimistic guys in this saga transfer.
I believe, CDK will be Milan player at the end of the week….
Dont get ur hopes up.
Believe it when it is announced
It’s called cautious optimism. Cos the reality is that Milan cannot compete financially with relegated or even newly promoted teams from the premiership.
Offering UCL football and our rich history is our selling point. But some players and agents do not appreciate that: Sanches is a good example of that.
I think CDK has a good head on his shoulders too. So fingers crossed, and brugge don’t get too greedy.
Anyways I hope for good news this week.
Kaka’s heir. This player and Adli, Tonali shall be a formidable partners. Forza Milan. Join AC Milan Global Fan Base on +233248637248.
Everything points to the fact that he is waiting to see if Milan will raise their bid, and they most probably will. So, for me, this deal, is close to completed. With him and Adli in the ranks, at least I am starting to dream about the old days…
