MN: One in, one out – decision made on Zeroli and Vos for Milan-Venezia

A decision has been made regarding two players who have been mentioned as candidates to be called up for the game against Venezia from Milan Futuro.

As MilanNews write, Paulo Fonseca spoke about the two teenage midfielders Silvano Vos and Kevin Zeroli, both of whom have trained with the first team this week in preparation for tomorrow night’s game.

“Vos started training with us this week. I had already watched him before, he confirmed that he is a quality player, he likes to have the ball and wants to have a great participation in offensive possession,” he said.

“Technically strong, he can be a midfielder and an attacking midfielder. I really liked the work he did with us this week. With Bennacer’s injury, he and Zeroli will work with the first team.”

According to their information, the Dutchman – who arrived from Ajax in a total deal that is believed to be worth €5m – will be available to Daniel Bonera tomorrow for Milan Futuro’s game against Ascoli.

However, that means that Zeroli will be in the first team and will be at Fonseca’s disposal. Given that Bennacer will be out until 2025, it is the first of what is likely to be numerous opportunities for the Futuro captain.

  1. Strange. I actually think that Vos is likely better than Zeroli in terms of readiness to play with the first team. Sure, Zeroli has already had his start with the first team, but Vos played several games in Eridivisie with his first team there. Yes, Serie A is a different animal so it remains to be seen. Anyway, forza Zeroli!

    1. Vos clearly looks superior, but consider that he can’t play in the Champs league. So it makes sense to groom Zeroli now so he can help out in the Champs league when needed.

  2. I am sure they will offer you a job on the spot if they see your awesome CV with your years of top-level football management. Oh, no you don’t have any, just another clueless keyboard warrior complaining about things he knows not. I see.

  3. To Luigi and Zion, if the situation were reversed, you both would have been vocal about the management’s alleged bias against Italians and favoritism towards non-Italians. However, let’s be realistic – Milan is a massive club with a rich history, and we shouldn’t overhype a young Ajax B-team player as the next big thing since Pirlo. Meanwhile, Zeroli has been an integral part of our first team for a year and is a true Milan fan through and through.

    1. Also, non of us is present at the training, and I believe that Fonseca, wether we like him or not, has more knowledge and competency than all of us. So the coach chose how is more ready.
Also, I will never forget how we were so eager to see Pobega coming to play for the first team after he’s good season at Torino, and the rest is history.

    2. You have me mixed up with someone else. I’ve said here many times that I don’t care if a player is Italian or foreigner. I care for good players, any nationality. This is not national team football; it’s club football. I mentioned that any discrimination against anyone based on national origin is not right. So, no, even though I’m Italian, I have no bias for Italian players in club football. I root passionately for gli Azzurri but when it’s AC Milan, I want the best player, regardless of nationality.

This said, yes, now that someone has mentioned that since Vos is not eligible for the European lists, it makes sense to go with Zeroli and further prepare him in case he needs to help out in the Champions League.

  4. Is this manager for real or what… Vos is Defensive Midfielder and this clown say he is a attacking midfielder. Wont be surprised if this Clown put him as a rightback and this dumbass management gonna loan him out with option to buy for 2 million to a team like Atalanta and then he gonna explode under a proper coach.

  5. This could actually be a blessing for us. As much as i like Bennacer. With his injury our youngsters will get a chance to prove themselves. Both vos and zeroli are talented players. Zeroli is more mature and familiar with Milan setup. Vos will need some time to adapt without too much undue pressure. Zeroli Fofana double pivot would be interesting.
