MN: Decisive days beckon for Brahim Diaz’s future as Milan ready €20m investment

By Oliver Fisher -

The coming days could well be decisive in how Brahim Diaz’s future turns out as AC Milan eye a permanent deal, according to a report.

MilanNews confirms that the Milan management are working on the purchase of Brahim Diaz after three seasons on loan at the club from Real Madrid. The Rossoneri would like to buy the Spaniard permanently for around €18-20m and ensure he stays beyond the summer.

However, Real Madrid could bring him back to the Spanish capital and keep him in the squad after Marco Asensio’s farewell on a free transfer. He is heading towards the Premier League, with Aston Villa in pole position.

The other movements in Milan’s attacking department will depend on what happens with Brahim, given that €20m would be allocated to his purchase and thus Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara would have less money available to reinforce other roles such as the right wing and centre-forward areas.

  1. If we are indeed getting Kamada then Diaz is a backup at best. $20 million for a bench player is too much. I don’t care about him playing RW. For $20 million we can go out and sign a real RW. Please don’t waste this money on Diaz.

  2. 20mil down the drain, I ‘ll like to know whose idea this is, because it for all to see that this a bad move !!!

  3. 20 million euro waste. I wouldn’t pay more than 5 for him as he will be a back up to Kamada and Loftus -Cheek, as I hear he is close to signing with Milan…spend that on a striker or right wing.

  4. Nothing but respect for Maldini and Masara for what they achieved last season with such poor investments but now with this de ketelaere, adli(they did not give him at least a decent chance)and now waisting money on this useless yoyo…im pretty sure this time is the hand of pioli ,as he likes him that much…the guy is a fkn lego figurine that lose every dam ball…are they getting completly insane?!

  5. Diaz is actually a decent RW. Since there is no RW available who fits what we are looking for, Diaz won’t be so bad. But he sure shouldn’t set foot as a CAM in milan Jersey again. and 20 mil is too high. 15 or less could be acceptable.

  6. I genuinely really like Diaz, he’s a hard worker and the epitome of that guy who you say “I don’t mind the result if they put a shift in” about. He’s very skilled but equally inconsistent with his output though. However, I think it’s time to try to move on if 20m+ if the cost of him staying – I think he’s a real asset to the team, but if the scouting network can’t identify similar players for cheaper then they’re really not doing their jobs right.

Only exception would be if he’s willing to take a crazy low salary for some reason.

  7. So this must be a joke right? Our first moves are to overload the CAM position with average to bad player and spend around 40m doing it between Diaz and RLC?? This must be a joke. That’s half our budget already. Wow…

We need to make every cent count and be bringing in only a few top players not several decent ones in a position we already have excess coverage in.
