MN: Donnarumma tests negative upon return to Milan amid Bonucci COVID scare – he will be monitored

By Oliver Fisher -

There is nothing to panic about for the moment regarding Gianluigi Donnarumma amid some worried over a potential COVID case.

Juventus announced earlier today that centre-back Leonardo Bonucci has tested positive for Coronavirus. The former Milan man returned from international duty with Italy and the FIGC confirmed last night four staff members tested positive, with Bonucci one of them.

He underwent a diagnostic molecular test for COVID-19 which came back positive, and while the player has already been placed in home isolation some concerns were raised as he was sat in the seat next to Donnarumma on the flight back.

According to MilanNews, Donnarumma is at Milanello as expected after his commitments with the senior national team having tested negative upon his return. The Rossoneri goalkeeper has undergone the usual checks and will be available to Stefano Pioli for Saturday’s match against Sampdoria, though of course – like every player – he will be monitored.
