AC Milan are awaiting results after Zlatan Ibrahimovic underwent medical tests this morning to assess the extent of his calf injury.
According to MilanNews, the medical checks at the Columbus clinic ended recently as the attacker – accompanied by Dr. Mazzoni – entered and left through a side entrance.
In the next few hours Milan’s statement on the physical condition of the Swede will arrive.
Ibrahimovic sustained the injury during Monday’s training session after he is believed to have overstretched when attempting to reach a throw-in. Some outlets speculated that it is an Achilles tendon problem which would require a long time out, but Vito Angele has informed us it is a calf issue but will likely keep him out for the rest of the season.
Meanwhile, Calciomercato.com are now claiming that head coach Stefano Pioli is preparing for life without the 38-year-old by moving Rafael Leao to centre-forward and changing system.
