MN: Ibrahimovic to snub Sweden call-up and focus on recovery at Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not expected to join up with Sweden for their upcoming internationals over the break, according to a report.

Ibrahimovic has not been available for Milan since sustaining an Achilles problem after the 2-0 win over Lazio at San Siro earlier in the month, and he was left out of the squad for Tuesday night’s game against Atletico Madrid too.

The coach of Sweden – Janne Andersson – named his squad ahead of their fixtures against Greece and Kosovo in their World Cup qualifying group. Ibrahimovic was there, despite the fact he has not been available to Milan, but now it seems as though the 39-year-old will not report.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews, Ibrahimovic is not expected to respond to the call-up from the Swedish national team as he is still in the recovery phase. Now we are awaiting  official confirmation from Sweden regarding the matter.
