Zlatan Ibrahimovic did not train with the rest of his team-mates during Tuesday’s session at Milanello in view of Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina, a report claims.
It was claimed by Sky Italia’s Manuele Baiocchini (via MilanNews.it) that Ibrahimovic – as well as midfielder Lucas Biglia who has been missing for the last few weeks due to a muscle injury – would return to training with the group.
Missing the game against Hellas Verona on Sunday is expected to have been a precaution as it would be better for him to miss the game against the Gialloblu than the derby – a game more important to the fans and to Ibra.
According to Anto Vitiello of MilanNews.it though, Biglia returned to the group but Ibrahimovic did not: he instead performed a personalised training session as he tries to get rid of calf fatigue.
Ibra’s absence was felt on Sunday as the Rossoneri failed to break down Verona, who even finished the game having played with 10 men for the last 20 minutes.
