MN: Why Kamada and Loftus Cheek could be the right profiles for Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been heavily linked with a move for both Daichi Kamada and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and a report has outlined why both would be useful for the squad.

MilanNews start with the playmaker at Eintracht Frankfurt, the club with whom he won the Europa League last year showing that he has experience at a high level, having also played in the Champions League this season.

He is a player with great technical quality and skill. He is flexible and adaptable to any game system, having played across the entire forward line.

Moreover, the Japan international’s contract with the German club is about to expire and he will almost certainly leave the Bundesliga at the end of this season. This makes him a great opportunity for the Rossoneri, who need reinforcements in that area.

His excellent numbers this season speak for themselves: 45 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 16 goals and providing six assists. He also scored three times in six Champions League appearances.

Then there is Loftus-Cheek, a profile who is in some ways similar to Franck Kessie. He has plenty of experience (17 appearances in the Champions League, 154 in the Premier League and 10 appearances for the English national team), and is of a physical mould at 1.91m tall.

He has good technique for his size though and can play in various roles such as deeper-lying midfielder, box-to-box player and playmaker with even some appearances on the wing, both on the right and on the left.

Considering Bennacer’s absence from the field until at least November after undergoing surgery on his right knee, a midfield signing is needed and the Englishman could be the right profile.

Loftus-Cheek did not face Milan for the first time in the group stages of the current edition of the Champions League. He actually faced the Rossoneri in February 2014 in the Youth League match against Mister Pippo Inzaghi and Davide Calabria’s Milan Primavera.

The Blues won 4-1 thanks to two goals from Baker and goals from Kiwomya and current Atalanta winger Jeremy Boga. It could be that a move to Milan is coming nine years later, where he would become team-mate of the captain Calabria and reunite with his compatriot and fellow Cobham graduate Fikayo Tomori.

  1. I don’t rate either one, especially not Kamada. Just another mediocre midfielder that won’t make a lick of difference. CDK had similar stats and profile and what happened?

Loftus-Cheek would be more useful, especially with Bennacer out, but still not enough. We need a class striker, and a class right-winger. Without those, we aren’t going anywhere. Bring in 5 Kamadas if you want…

    1. My friend are u compare Kamada with Loftus cheek really ?
Kamada is way better than Cheek..
Cheek 3 season with Chelsea and Fulham in EPL ( 1 gol 4 assist )
Kamada 3 season with Frankfurt in Bundesliga ( 18 gol 22 assist )
Even Diaz have more usefull than cheek average xG and xA

    2. Kamada has proven himself on every stage: international competition with the performance at the world cup, European competition, and winning silverware with a top 5 league club. CDK was playing in a farmer’s league with none of that other experience. His transfer will be a much different story

  2. Kamada is good with both feet. Excellent passer and great long shooter, 2 of the characteristics we desperately need. Loftus-Cheek really has above average strength. Excellent turning skill that can only do good in a quick transition.

All in all, an excellent deal if we could get both for the sum of 20ish mil.
