MN: Kessie showing offensive production as well as strength and tackling – the numbers

By Oliver Fisher -

Franck Kessie is a player who has a lot of responsibilities, but he knows them all well and he always fulfils them to the best of his ability.

As MilanNews writes, “the President” has shown throughout the season that he deserves that nickname because of his top performances and his increasingly evident leadership skills. Kessie has certainly been the most consistent and constant member of the Rossoneri squad since last June, since Milan began their race towards the current ranking.

With 35 games played in the league, the Ivorian has 11 goals and 6 assists and a super average of 11.315km covered on average per game in Serie A (7th place in this particular ranking). Kessie has always been there, both in the best moments of the season and in the less than ideal ones.

Despite his importance, the fact his contract is expiring in 2022 does not cause excessive concern. Bennacer, Tonali and Meité have proved to be adequate partners because of the 24-year-old’s brilliance: his physical strength, tackling, reading skills, ball management, recoveries, goals and assists.

Against Torino he showed all of this, and against Juve too despite the missed penalty. He has the strength and the maturity of a real player, and with this Kessie qualification for the next Champions League can only be very close.
