MN: Kjaer ‘a captain without an armband’ for Milan as all parties want renewal agreement

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Simon Kjaer want to continue their journey together and a renewal will soon be discussed, according to a report.

As MilanNews writes, the Rossoneri signed the Dane on an initial loan from Sevilla and fans were sceptical upon his arrival, but the club and the player went through a process hand in hand that resulted in achieving qualification for the Champions League and will not end there.

Soon it will be time to sit down at the table to renew Kjaer’s contract which will expire on June 30, 2022. The 32-year-old has given a lot to the Rossoneri in terms of his spirit, experience and of course his level of performances, but he has also gained a lot because Milan have allowed him to find his best form again after some difficult years.

Kjaer went about establishing himself as one of the best defenders in the league as well as strengthening his leadership in the national team, making him ‘a captain without an armband’ as per the report. His reward will be an extended deal with a pay rise most likely included.
