MN: Kjaer’s permanent move disproves theory about Rangnick’s arrival at Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Simon Kjaer’s permanent arrival at AC Milan has sent a message to those who though Ralf Rangnick will focus only on young players, a report claims.

The club confirmed on Wednesday that they have exercised their option to buy the 31-year-old, which is widely reported to be for a fee of €3.5m. The news was revealed on the official website.

Kjaer has signed a two-year deal with the Rossoneri which will see him remain at the club until the end of the 2021-22 season.

According to MilanNews, there has often been speculation about Ralf Rangnick’s ‘veto’ regarding players over 30 being signed for Milan.

The German manager obviously prefers young players, but in his career he has often used even more experienced players, as we saw during his last experience as head coach at RB Leipzig.

Last year, Leipzig’s top players included Ilsanker (31), Kevin Kampl (31), Diego Demme and Marcel Halstenberg (29).
