MN: Leao suffers hamstring injury and looks set to miss a number of games – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan winger Rafael Leao looks set to miss at least two weeks of action after he picked up a hamstring injury on international duty.

Leao took to the field at half-time to play in the the second half of Portugal’s U21 game against the Netherlands on Wednesday night, but didn’t end up seeing out the rest of the game.

The forward instead lasted only 37 minutes as he had to leave the field due to a physical problem, and of course fans are now worrying about the extent of the injury just as the squad had got back to full fitness.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews among other sources, Leao has undergone a scan on the problem after returning to Italy, and it was confirmed that he has sustained an injury to the hamstring muscle of his right thigh.

A follow-up examination will be carried out in 10 days to further evaluate the injury, meaning he is therefore likely to miss the next three games.
