Despite having been at the club for over a year now, there is still a quite exciting amount of mystery as to just how good Rafael Leao could become.
As MilanNews notes, back on 9 November 2019 the Portuguese forward had racked up nine appearances, one goal and one assist in 12 games overall. Of these nine appearances, in particular, he had started only five times.
During that period he showed a real mixture of fantastic physical and technical ability alternating with frequent disappearances in the key moments of the gam which made him a real object of mystery.
Compare that with today though, and the story is very different: 10 games played between league and cups, with three goals and three assists in five starts.
Leao ‘has begun to show the fruits of his qualities’, the report adds, but the general consensus is that he can still reach even higher levels and can become even more consistent.
Sometimes it is possible to forget that Leao is playing, but then seconds later he can go on a devastating 40-yard run and create a big scoring chance. Leao needs perseverance to continue his growth and secure his place as a pillar of the future Milan.
