MN: Maldini and Boban working to secure one more purchase

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are aiming to make one last purchase before the transfer window shuts on Monday, according to a reliable source.

All indications seem to point towards a deal for primary target Angel Correa being almost dead.

La Gazzetta dello Sport recently claimed that Milan and Atletico ‘have never been so far apart’ in negotiations, suggesting the pursuit could be over.

Now, a report from Anto Vitiello on MilanNews.it confirms that the Rossoneri are now looking for an alternative to Correa after the operation with Atletico has run aground.

Boban and Maldini are considering various targets, Vitiello adds, but a real negotiation has not yet begun.

However, the report goes on to add that the will of the leadership is to make at least one more purchase before the window slams shut.

On Thursday, La Repubblica – as cited by MilanNews.it –  stated the most ‘concrete name’ as a back-up option to Correa is Memphis Depay, while Genoa’s Christian Kouame is also an option.
