MN: Maldini confident with Milan set to begin negotiations over Donnarumma’s renewal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will shortly have to sit around the negotiating table again to discuss the renewal of Gianluigi Donnarumma, a report claims.

The Rossoneri goalkeeper was in excellent form again on Monday night against Bologna as he made a couple of outstanding saves to make it two clean sheets from two to begin the season.

According to MilanNews, the time is now for the management to think about finally resolving the future of the 21-year-old, given that his contract is currently set to expire in less than a year in June 2021.

Mino Raiola is a good agent and knows all the tricks of the trade and for that reason he is one of the richest men in football. Three years ago a renewal saga rumbled on regarding the then-18-year-old Donnarumma, who renewed at €6m per season net and his brother Antonio arrived as part of it.

Despite this, Paolo Maldini is still calm and soon the negotiation will come to life because the club cannot run the risk of losing the Italy international on a fee.

Milan want and must lock him up, obviously without negotiating astronomical amounts (also because the player’s will is stay). In via Aldo Rossi they are confident, and we just have to wait, the report concludes.
