There has been a ‘positive acceleration’ regarding talks over the renewal of midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, according to a report.
The Calhanoglu renewal saga has been dominating the media for the past few weeks as the Turkey international has entered the final few months of his current contract, with no signs that a new deal is imminent.
However, MilanNews reports that the negotiations over Calhanoglu’s renewal have had ‘a positive acceleration’ over the past 24 hours. The 27-year-old went to Casa Milan yesterday to meet the management and reiterate his desire to stay at the club, a desire which is mutual because Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara also want him to stay.
All parties are optimistic that they can finally reach an economic agreement after weeks of negotiations, while there has been progress regarding the details of the contract and an agreement on the extension seems to be closer now than ever before.
