MN: Milan and Ibrahimovic to continue without hesitation – the search for his deputy begins

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are likely to continue their journey together for another season, but attention must soon turn to the future, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, Ibrahimovic wants to stay with the Rossoneri – which he would have liked to do even if Ralf Rangnick had arrived – but now Milan are certain they want to continue with the Swede too.

The economic details will have to be resolved, but it is expected that there is not a great distance between the two parties and the 38-year-old has been assured a key role in next season’s plans too.

Once the situation linked to Zlatan has been resolved, Milan will then have to think about how to complete the attack. The Diavolo have lacked another proper centre-forward since January, when they chose to sell Krzysztof Piatek, so it will therefore be necessary to go out and acquire a new striker.

The report adds that it is unlikely that a big name or €40-50m signing will arrive, so Maldini and Massara are expected to go looking for a young prospect. The alternative would be to sign another experienced striker, a solution that would hardly make Elliott Management happy, given that Zlatan is already an exception to their vision.
