MN: Milan can accelerate pursuit of Chelsea man Giroud amid France exit

By Isak Möller -

Milan are looking for a striker on the market and have been heavily linked with Olivier Giroud in the last few weeks. The negotiations haven’t proceeded as fast as expected, but there could now be some movement.

France got knocked out of the Euros last night as they lost to Switzerland on penalties, which was a boost for Milan. According to Pietro Mazzara of MilanNews, the Rossoneri will now be able to accelerate their pursuit of Giroud.

In order to keep the striker calm, the parties had all agreed to take it slow during the Euros but now the window has opened. Giroud still has to free himself for Chelsea, though, and he will leave this up to his entourage.

Important developments are expected in the next two weeks, also because the Frenchman will be on holiday, but he already has an agreement with Milan. The latter have put €4m per year on the table for a period of two years.

  1. Ready to pay 4m salary for Zlatan’s sub, but not ready enough to pay 6m for Kessie who is the heart of the team. WTF?

  2. Milan management are sick MMW..most of their decisions are off point.. Pobega and Kessie are another of their numerous mistakes they’ve mind. How will the explain losing Jessie to inter and Pobega to Atalanta(only to see another locatelli and pessina). Always wasting time chasing players they can’t afford only to get them on dry loan, develop them for parent club…

  3. Giroud most probably will be the main striker of next season; not Zlatan’s sub. He is got all we need; physical presence, strong, moves well with/ without ball, team player mentality and top level experience.
Great move to sign him for free.
Ps: Kessie should be ACMs core for the next years so his renewal is a must.
