MN: Milan close to announcing Ibrahimovic renewal; two-year deal not excluded

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are closing in on being able to announce that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be staying for another season, according to a report.

MilanNews are claiming that a renewal for Ibrahimovic is almost ready, and that there is great optimism regarding the situation. In fact, it is a matter of days or hours before a full and final agreement is reached.

Dialogues between the parties are continuous and have been taking place for several weeks, with Milan proposing an offer with a fixed salary of €4.5-5m, and a series of easily reachable bonuses linked to goals and appearances, plus a bonus for a top four finish.

It is a contract with incentives that could even exceed the request of €6million net that Ibrahimovic asked for at first. Interestingly, MilanNews add that there is also a second year option to be considered.

Ibrahimovic will play next season to try and win the Europa League and reach at least fourth place, but he could reserve an option to remain another year. The details that are being discussed at the moment concerns precisely this, but there is no longer any doubt about the willingness of the player and the club to continue together.

Only the signature on the contract that could take place in these days is missing.
