MN: Milan ‘closer and closer’ to €20m midfielder deal – two counterparts to be included

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are closing in on being able to confirm the permanent signing of Sandro Tonali from Brescia, according to a report.

As MilanNews writes this morning, Tonali is getting ‘closer and closer to returning to Milan’ and the official announcement is not far away. Tonali’s will has never been in doubt as he has always wanted to stay beyond his initial one-year loan spell, and because he believes he can make a greater contribution than in the first year for his boyhood club.

The 21-year-old midfielder has a strong desire to establish himself at Milan and the management believes in him, and for this reason they are trying to reach a full agreement with Brescia president Massimo Cellino with a discount.

The initial deal was €35million in total, but the effects of the pandemic and difficulties adapting caused Milan to ask for a discount. Brescia has agreed to lower the option to buy with the inclusion of counterparts such as Giacomo Olzer plus a two-year loan for Lorenzo Colombo.

The final figure should be around €20m in total (including the €10m already paid last year for the loan), and a full agreement could arrive this week.
