MN: Why Milan have no worries regarding Camarda despite media speculation

After his 16th birthday on Sunday, Francesco Camarda is now eligible to sign his first professional contract. Whilst several teams are interested in snatching his services away from AC Milan, the Rossoneri are confident he will remain at the club.

With Camarda turning 16 this season, there has been an increased interest in the youngster from Italian and international clubs for several reasons. Primarily, he has an incredible record at the youth levels, which is causing such intrigue, but he has also shown that he is doing enough to have appeared for Milan at a senior level.

However, regardless of the interest in him, the Rossoneri are heavily confident of him extending his stay at the club, per MilanNews. Truthfully, they have been for some time and have already set out a plan of action to continue his development at the club.

The timing of his renewal is still to be decided, though. There are two options for this: firstly, offer him a deal as soon as possible, until 2026 (the maximum for 16-year-olds is a contract for two seasons). Alternatively, the Diavolo may wait until the summer to make the most of the two-season rule and offer him a deal which stretches until 2027, when he will be 19, giving the club an extra year to negotiate another deal if they need.

Ultimately, the decision is down to Camarda, but with his links to Milan strong, the club remain in pole position to sign Camarda.
