MN: Milan have ‘not lost hope’ over Leao renewal but may listen to January bids

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have not lost hope of keeping Rafael Leao but they are becoming increasingly aware that it will be a difficult negotiation, a report claims.

Antonio Vitiello in his latest column for MilanNews describes the Leao situation as being ‘more tangled’ than that of Ismael Bennacer. The winger is requesting a big pay rise but that is the least of the Rossoneri’s problems, as there is the confusion surrounding who represents they player and above all the Sporting CP fine.

It is therefore possible that offers will be evaluated in January but the idea is to try and secure the extension of Leao’s deal, or wait for the summer mercato when a sale will become a real concrete hypothesis so as not to lose him for free.

However, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have ‘not lost hope’ that they can keep the former Lille man.
