MN: Milan intend to inject youth into the attack by signing a new forward – Maldini’s plan

By Oliver Fisher -

The Milan management are keen on signing a new striker this summer who can grow under the wing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a report claims.

As MilanNews writes, the Rossoneri hierarchy are convinced that they want to renew Ibrahimovic also because of his importance in the dressing room as well as his decisive contributions on the pitch. The Swede helped the whole team grow in 2020 and the results show it.

However, the Swede has missed half of the Serie A matches already so far this season and Milan next year – all being well – will also have the Champions League to compete in, so it will be necessary to have a striker who they can lean on when Ibra can’t play, especially given he will turn 40 later this year.

For this reason, Milan could think of a younger and more physically reliable player to support Zlatan. Therefore, the plan is to keep Ibra in the team but take precautions with an extra reinforcement in attack, especially given neither Rebic nor Leao are not 20 goals per season players.
