MN: Milan’s stance regarding renewal of Ibrahimovic made clear after the striker’s declarations

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready and willing to give Zlatan Ibrahimovic a new contract to ensure he stays for next season, but his future is not entirely certain.

As MilanNews writes, Ibrahimovic will not be there against Manchester United and Napoli this week and is even at risk of missing the return match at San Siro against the Premier League side, with Monday’s check-up crucial in that regard.

Milan will inevitably feel his absence in the next two huge games, even if the player has done everything to be close to the group including attending the game against Udinese by commuting back from Sanremo and also being present for the game against Hellas Verona after his last night at the festival.

His message of love for the team and the club did not go unnoticed in a recent interview, as he declared: “A day without them is like a day without my children. Renewal? If Paolo wants me, I’m there.”

The management are convinced that they want to renew Ibrahimovic also because of his importance in the dressing room as well as his decisive contributions on the pitch. The Swede helped the whole team grow in 2020 and the results show it.
