MN: Milan and Inter ask Superintendent for stadium clarification during meeting

By Oliver Fisher -

While AC Milan’s season enters the business end, the new stadium issue continues to rumble on in the background and a meeting was held today.

As reported by MilanNews (via PianetaMilan) Milan, Inter, the Municipality of Milan and the Superintendent Emanuela Carpani met at Palazzo Marino today.

The two clubs have asked the Superintendent to verify immediately – and without waiting for 2025 – the existence of the cultural interest requirements of the current San Siro stadium.

This is because in two years the second ring of the stadium will reach 70 years of existence and at that point the obligation to verify the cultural interest would be triggered.

The two teams are in a hurry to establish what the current regulations are in order to proceed with the process for the construction of the new stadium, while the Council do not want two nearby stadiums due to the impact on traffic and safety, especially that of residents in the area.
