MN: Milan to be backed by over 1,500 fans in Newcastle

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will be backed by a large travelling support tonight as they face Newcastle United in the final game of their Champions League group stage campaign.

MilanNews report that as always happens before Champions League matches, at 13:00 local time a UEFA lunch will be held between the Newcastle United and Milan management (CEO Giorgio Furlani will be present for the Rossoneri) in view of this evening’s match.  However, Gerry Cardinale will not be there and he will not attend the game either.

There will be a lot of Milan fans at St. James’ Park for the game, with more than 1,500 Rossoneri supporters expected to climb the 14 flights of stairs to the very top of the stadium, where they will cheer on the team and hope for a miracle.

As a reminder: Milan must beat Newcastle to keep any hopes of European progress alive, and hope that Borussia Dortmund defeat PSG.

  1. I understand that we have a bigger stadium than Newcastle Utd and with around 74000 people allowed to attend San Siros matches compared to St. James Park with 52000 but when we played in Milano Newcastle had around 4000 supporters with them so 1500 seems like a small amount to me. It seems like we should be allowed in between 2500-3000 spectators so why is it that we have so few with us ?

    1. It could be how the the seats are sectioned off to hold the fans in a controlled space. Otherwise I agree that it should have been more

      1. Oh yeah that would actually make sense but didn’t think of it as i have mild hangover after getting a bit drunk watching fc copenhagen match yesterday 😀

Damn newcastle utd youth team just scored two goals pretty quickly against us and is now leading 2-1 and the last goal was scored by our former player Cathal Heffernan.

        1. Oh right Copenhagen played lol
My bro, who is a man it’s fan, didn’t bother to watch the game 😂😂😂 and he watches ALl their games. he’s THAT annoyed with them to put it lightly

          1. Haha I bet you had a blast messing with your brother when milan beat them back in 07 😀

😀 its quite an accomplishment that they didn’t qualify from the group but I do think FC Copenhagen actually deserved to progress but i hadn’t thought it possible as I saw that group as the second most difficult one after ours in this years Champions League.
