MN: Milan’s probable XI against Cremonese – Rare chance for two fringe players

By Euan Burns -

There could be a rare chance to start a game for AC Milan duo Charles De Ketelaere and Aster Vranckx when the Rossoneri take on Cremonese on Wednesday night, a report claims.

As has been reported by Milan News, Stefano Pioli is expected to ring the changes in the midweek Serie A fixture between his side and the Grigiorossi with the game coming sandwiched between tough matches against both AS Roma and Lazio.

The coach will hope that some of his fringe players have got what it takes to get all three points in Cremona, which means an opportunity for De Ketelaere, Vranckx and Divock Origi.

They are three players that have seriously struggled to impress when given a chance this season but the coach is left with little choice given the demanding fixture list which sees the Champions League semi-final first leg against Inter come days after the weekend clash with Lazio.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Kalulu, Theo; Vranckx, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, De Ketelaere, Diaz; Origi.

Suspended: Tomori.
Out: Ibrahimovic, Pobega.
Warning: Kjaer, Kalulu, Thiaw, Rebic, Pobega.

  1. Round pegs in square holes… We all know CDK isn’t effective as a CAM and now we go with a formation that’s gonna punish the team more. A 4-3-3 would suit all selected midfielders and even profit Adli. I’d prefer CDK up front or Rebic honestly.

    1. There’s a chance CDK will play close to Origi as a second striker rather than playmaker. Fingers crossed for a win anyway.

  2. I would put sally on the left
He could be dangerous coming to the inside with his dribling
    He’s limited on the right
+ theo woould have more breathing room to attack
    Diaz on the right

  3. Oh Jesus… the four of them!

I’m afraid that’s too many mediocre Belgians on the pitch at the same time.
